Game of the Week: Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

As adventures go, the "Ratchet & Clank" series reminds me of the work of both J.R.R. Tolkien and George Lucas.

I'm not sure what I was expecting with "NHL 10," but the end result is not unlike "NHL 09."

Gamezone: 'Borderlands'

Perhaps it is the cynical, video-game journalist in me, but if I were living on a planet called "Pandora," I would insist on living a box-free life.

Gamezone: 'Astro Boy'

Like "Kimba the White Lion" and other Japanese animation, "Astro Boy" has a special place in my childhood memories. Japanese manga legend Osamu Tezuka's original story was some pretty heavy stuff, considering this was a show aimed at children.

'Saw' video game puts players in jeopardy
Gamezone: Going into "Saw," my expectations were ridiculously low. Sure, Konami knows a thing or two about the survivor horror genre thanks to the "Silent Hill" franchise, but the movie franchise Konami's latest game is based on has always struck me as a more violent and bloody version of Vincent Price's "The Abominable Dr. Phibes." In both, the anti-hero creates some truly creative and morbid instruments of death.

Gamezone: 'Brutal Legend'

EA may have been the publisher of "Brutal Legend," but the game is without a doubt the work of developer Tim Schafer and Double Fine studios. Schafer, the mind behind such classic games as "Grim Fandango" and "Psychonauts" once again allows us to play in a colorful, humorous world of his creation.

Gamezone: 'Uncharted 2'

There's a fine line between what is plausible and what is possible. "Uncharted 2" redefines what is graphically possible for video games. From lush jungles to museum exhibition rooms, the graphic detail of "Uncharted 2" is photo-realistic in both the rendered cut-scenes and during gameplay. The game is said to use up just about every inch of storage space on the Blu-ray disc and will push one of the console's two processors to the limit.

Gamezone: 'Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days'

As final moments playing a character go, the "miquel" (that's a sequel that picks up some backstory mid-way through the original work) to "Kingdom Hearts II" is a fine send-off for Wayne Allwine.
