In the Blackhawks Oct. 21 loss to the Vancouver Canucks at the United Center, Canucks' defenseman Willie Mitchell delivered a clean but hard hit on Hawks' captain Jonathan Toews, leaving Toews with a concussion that sidelined him for six games. Hawks coach Joel Quenneville didn't think the Mitchell hit would have an impact on Sunday's game.
